Entrepreneurship Programs offer a variety of Graduate Assistantship & Student Worker opportunities.

Graduate Assistantships

  • Rommel Center Graduate Assistant: a dynamic position designed for a graduate student with a strong interest in entrepreneurship, program management, and start-up entrepreneurial development. The GA will work closely with the Center’s leadership to support and enhance a developing vibrant entrepreneurial environment within the Rommel Center. This role offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in entrepreneurship programming, research, entrepreneur engagement, and event management, all while contributing to the Center’s mission to empower aspiring entrepreneurs.
  • Competitions Graduate Assistant: an engaging opportunity for a graduate student passionate about entrepreneurship, marketing and program management. This role involves collaborating with program leaders and supporting various competitions and initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to gain practical experience in entrepreneurship programming, research, entrepreneur engagement, leadership and public speaking, and event management, all while contributing to the mission to empower aspiring entrepreneurs.
  • Research Assistant: The Research Graduate Assistant supports the Executive Director in implementing new projects, designing programs, and analyzing markets by performing quantitative and qualitative research. This individual independently executes research projects that involve online searches, literature reviews, database queries, and interviews. Then he or she uses different analytical techniques to uncover key insights. Finally, results are presented through data visualizations, reports, and presentations. The Research GA may present the findings of their research to faculty, staff, students, donors, or other groups, as appropriate. The individual uses a variety of software tools, including Excel, Tableau, Canva, and PowerPoint. This is a good position for strengthening research skills and practicing data-driven decision-making in a business context.

Student Worker Positions

  • Competitions Student Worker: Student workers support key entrepreneurship initiatives, including student competitions, Shore Hatchery competition, and the CEO Club. Responsibilities include front desk coverage, assisting with events and workshops, marketing, mentoring competition participants, and helping manage outreach, materials, and logistics. They also support CEO operations, promote student engagement, and collaborate with faculty and staff. Flexibility, initiative, and a collaborative spirit are essential, as student workers are involved in a wide variety of projects that advance the Entrepreneurship Programs mission to inspire, educate, and empower student entrepreneurs. Strong communication, organization, and a proactive mindset are essential.
  • Rommel Center Graphic Design Student Worker: This position offers SU Art students hands-on experience supporting student and community entrepreneurs through design and creative production. Interns will gain experience in logo creation, signage, sticker design, marketing materials, and basic prototyping. They will be introduced to the Center’s Makerspace, receive training on equipment and help create simple items for entrepreneurs. Interns will also learn best practices in organization, file management, and creative workflow, while gaining a deeper understanding of how design supports entrepreneurship and economic development. (qualifies as an ART Dept. Internship)
