CAFE invests in professional development that supports faculty at every career stage with added opportunities. This year, SU faculty have access to three signature programs at no cost, along with the campus resources and external links below.

ACUE
ACUE: Effective Teaching Practices (NEW!)

SU again partners with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) to offer its nationally recognized Effective Teaching Practices credential to a cohort of 33 faculty, with a new dedicated Nursing Pathway. Applications are now being accepted!
- August 31, 2026: Application deadline
- September 14, 2026: Effective Teaching Practices course begins
ACUE Commons (NEW!)

New this year, SU's institutional membership in ACUE Commons gives all faculty and staff access to ACUE's on-demand teaching resources, courses, and community. Join us August 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. ACUE Commons information session with Kelly Williamson to learn more. Can’t attend? A recording will be made available.

- This fall, look for an invitation from support@acue.org to activate your account and join our vibrant virtual teaching community.
- You’ll be able to view your available virtual asynchronous courses and connect with your colleagues from within our institutional group.
- Explore the menu of one-hour Quick Studies on emerging topics.
NCFDD
NCFDD: Expanded Institutional Partnership (NEW!)

Every SU faculty and staff member has free, unlimited access to the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD), including the core curriculum, live and recorded webinars, writing challenges, and resource libraries. SU's expanded partnership now adds exclusive SU writing challenges, customized curriculum plans aligned with university priorities, and the new NCFDD Community connecting SU faculty with peers nationwide.

The biggest change is that the agreement includes 15 NCFDD course registrations per year, in addition to institutional membership. These registrations can be used for courses such as:
- Teaching Toolkit in the Age of AI
- Rethinking Your Research Funding
- Building Your Publishing Pipeline.

Crucial Learning

Crucial Learning: In-Person Trainings (NEW!)

CAFE's certified in-house trainers deliver Crucial Learning's research-based courses on campus: Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue, Crucial Conversations for Accountability, and Getting Things Done. Open to faculty and staff, with department and team sessions available on request.
