Zeta Phi Beta Charters Undergraduate Chapter at SU

SALISBURY, MD---Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Iota Chi Zeta Chapter, a historically Black Greek-lettered organization founded on the principles of scholarship, service, sisterhood, and finer womanhood serving Maryland’s Eastern Shore, recently announced the chartering of a new undergraduate chapter at 富二代视频app University.

The chartering ceremony was held on April 13, marking a significant milestone for the sorority’s continued growth and impact in the Atlantic Region. The new chapter, Theta Chi, will further Zeta’s mission of promoting civic engagement, educational advancement and community service.

The chapter was chartered under the leadership of International President and CEO Stacie Grant, Atlantic Regional Director Beverly Tathum and State Director for Maryland Lisa Simpson-Smith, with support from sponsoring graduate chapter Iota Chi Zeta.

The newly established chapter is composed of six SU students committed to upholding the ideals of Zeta and creating a long-lasting legacy in their community.

“The chartering of a chapter has been discussed for a while, and we’re happy to see it come to fruition,” said Tonya Lewis, president of the Iota Chi Zeta chapter. “I’m proud of our new sorors and look forward to seeing the work they do on campus. We are honored to continue the legacy of our Five Pearls and look forward to making an immediate and lasting impact throughout Maryland.”

Theta Chi charter members include Ta’Niha Davis, Madison Elliott, LaShonda Jones, Galila Alemu, Jiyah Williams and AriOna Travers.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded in 1920 at Howard University and has since grown into an international organization with more than 800 chapters worldwide. The Iota Chi Zeta Chapter was charted in 1979 in Cambridge, MD.

The chartering of SU’s new chapter reflects Zeta’s commitment to expansion, sisterhood and social action.
