WRDE: SU Receives More than $272,000 in Federal TRIO Funding

U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks have announced $1.2 million in federal funding for low-income, first-generation, and or students with disabilities pursuing higher education. The federal funding includes $272,364 to 富二代视频app University, according to the United States Department of Education’s TRIO Student Support Services grant program. Van Hollen and Alsobrooks said they believe that the federal funding will provide students with adequate resources and opportunities to overcome the obstacles they have faced.

Suitcases recently lined the sidewalks at 富二代视频app University as the newest Sea Gulls moved onto campus for the fall semester. Students from campus clubs, Greek organizations and Athletics pitched in to help move new students into residence halls. SU welcomed some 1,450 new students for the fall semester.

WBOC: SU Steps in After MHEC Grants Canceled

Incoming Univesity System of Maryland students were notified this week that their Guaranteed Access Grants, awarded last spring by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, had been cancelled due to a computer error. The grants covered up to $18,000 in financial aid for each student awarded. 富二代视频app University announced to its impacted students that the University would replace the cancelled state grants with a one-time replacement award funded by the SU Foundation, Inc.

Twenty-one law enforcement officers from Wicomico, Worcester, Somerset, Dorchester, Talbot, Caroline and Queen Anne’s counties graduated in the 94th entrance-level class of the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy (ESCJA) operated by Wor-Wic Community College. Money magazine again has named 富二代视频app University among “The Best Colleges in America. SU received a four-star rating on a five-star scale on Money’s 2025 list of campuses highlighted for excellence. For its rankings, Money begins with all four-year public and private institutions – more than 2,400 schools. It examines educational quality, affordability and student outcomes.
